The standard size for this breed is 6-9 inches high at the withers, and weight is 2-6 pounds. These dogs have fragile skeletons and hence are susceptible to fractures. Puppies and dogs with unclosed moleras are at risk of serious head injuries, and even a seemingly slight trauma may turn out to be fatal. This breed is not recommended for young children and should not be trusted with larger animals. These dogs enjoy interaction, but they hate children who tease them. They are usually reserved with strangers and can be extremely dog-aggressive.
