Toy Chihuahua Picture

There are lots of breeders claiming to have “rare” versions of Chihuahuas and attempting to convince Chihuahua lovers in the rightness of their claims by posting “Toy Chihuahua Picture galleries” on their websites and personal web pages. No standard applies or accepts names like “Toy Chihuahuas”, “Pocket Size Chihuahuas”, or “Miniature Chihuahuas”, and professional breeders express their concern and resentment at such attempts. Such claims usually arise either from ignorance or are propagated by unethical and dollar-oriented breeders.

Standard-sized Chihuahuas measure 6-10 inches high at the shoulder. Pet quality dogs can be larger. Chihuahuas are considered to be the smallest dogs in the world. They have pea-shaped heads with pointed muzzles, large ruby or luminous eyes and very large ears that are held erect. Chihuahuas come in a variety of colors. There are two types of Chihuahuas: the smooth-coated (short-haired) and long-coated (long-haired). If you would like to have a Chihuahua in possession, you should decide which type is more preferable for you. When choosing a breeder to buy a puppy from, please, do not search among websites where you have come across a phrase like “Toy Chihuahua Picture”, because this is unprofessional and you may be hugely disappointed in the future.

Chihuahuas are vivacious and merry, and they cannot bear loneliness. They seem totally addicted to human company, and they do not like it when there is no one around to play with them. These dogs are good for apartment life, but they also like to spend a significant amount of time outdoors. They do not usually require large yards, but they do enjoy daily walks, which keep them physically fit. Regular moderate exercise will reduce the risk of health problems and undesirable behavior. Training Chihuahuas is not an easy game. These little dogs require a specific approach. If you are not an experienced Chihuahua owner, it is advisable for you to consult your breeder or a more experienced and knowledgeable Chihuahua owner. Please, do not rely on the advice of those who post so called "Toy Chihuahua Picture” galleries, because much of the information they present is highly misleading. Study the breed standard and the basics of Chihuahua rearing and training very carefully.

Chihuahuas are relatively healthy and long-lived dogs. However, they have a very delicate body structure, and hence they are very prone to injuries and fractures. Being the smallest dogs on earth, they are much more sensitive to physical impact than all other dogs. Chihuahua breeding also requires a good deal of experience and knowledge. Births often require Caesarian Sections, because puppies have very large heads. Puppies have unclosed sections of the skull, which are called “moleras”. Usually, moleras close by adulthood, but in some dogs they remain open for good. If you are fully determined to obtain a Chihuahu puppy, please, find a reliable breeder and do not concentrate on “Toy Chihuahua Picture” websites.
